We all know we are supposed to sit up straight to look better, however poor posture can impact the rest of our body, both physically and mentally. Bad posture as part of our daily habits can have a surprisingly negative impact. Slouching at our desks all day with poor alignment is one of the leading causes of neck and back pain, headaches, constipation, bloating, loss of focus and creativity and other health related problems. It can impact our sleep if our muscle system is not aligned properly as we can’t fully relax.
Poor posture can also affect our moods. A study from the journal ‘Health Psychology’ found that people who sat with a slumped posture exhibited negative moods, more fear and lower self-esteem that those who sat upright. In the same study researchers found that the slumped participants showed reduced focus and lower confidence.
These 1-2-1 sessions with Lynn, our expert on posture and alignment offers your staff private sessions to help improve and optimise their posture, alignment to help prevent back related problems due to sitting all day. Lynn will look at your overall posture and offer supportive advice, show demonstrations suggest exercises and create more awareness in the importance of improved posture for overall health and feeling comfortable.
She can also look at your workstation to ensure it is as best as it can be for your home or work office and offer remedies to correct helpful ways to improve it.
