Slouching forward at a desk, totally involved with what’s on the screen, pushing your neck forward to read it…most people don’t realise what they’re actually doing to their health.
Slouching every day reshapes the spine. And curvature of the spine means that the whole body and brain suffer from trying to work to their optimum in the wrong position. Put simply, the blood cannot circulate as efficiently if the spine is wrongly positioned, affecting all the major organs such as the heart, liver and kidneys.
Sitting hunched over also creates breathing and digestive problems as well as pain in the spine and hips. Thrusting our necks forwards results in the dreaded ‘chicken neck’, affecting the alignment of the spine, shortening muscles and tendons and causing problems not just with the neck, but the lower back too.
The TVT posture workshop teaches better posture using simple techniques to make participants aware of what actually happens to their body with bad posture, and how to get out of bad habits before it’s too late.
Duration – 60 or 90 minutes
